The B&Bs for Vets program, managed and promoted by the Association of Lodging Professionals (ALP), was created to thank our nation’s veterans and active military for their service. This program has been in operation for 15 years. Bed & Breakfasts, Inns, and other unique independent lodging properties across the United States and Canada have offered thousands of complimentary room nights to active-duty military and veterans. Many veterans have had their first experience at a bed & breakfast because of this program. We have the opportunity to turn them into B & B guests as they travel in the future.

Imagine what it would mean to a Veteran to have the opportunity to stay at one of our many fantastic lodging properties throughout the country. If you are one of our many properties that has participated in the past, we thank you and ask you to again share your property to thank a veteran. If you have never participated before, please consider becoming a part of this special program. 

Here’s one of the many comments from an appreciative veteran who participated in the B&Bs for Vets program: “I have served for over 20 years and have been privy to many expressions of gratitude by businesses and individuals. Vets who are lucky enough to participate in this program are treated like family, and the experience is one that many could not afford without the program” - SFC David Cogdill.

You can do something special for a deserving veteran this Veteran's Day. We request that you consider offering at least one FREE room or a Buy One / Get One Free offer to a deserving veteran on or around Veterans Day (Saturday, November 11, 2023) or at some point during November. We encourage you to be as creative as possible; many properties that have signed up in previous years have opened their entire property to offer free rooms to veterans. 

Once you’ve signed up to participate, keep a waiting list of veterans who can join you in the event of a cancellation.  If you’re not signed up to participate in the 2023 B&Bs for Vets program, we hope you will do so today.  It’s pretty easy to do.  You can visit the B&Bs for Vets website, list your property, or email us your offer and any questions. 

We would appreciate you helping us spread the word, so if you are part of a B&B or Lodging association or know anyone interested, please forward this invitation to them. Properties do not have to be an Association of Lodging Professionals (ALP) member to participate and be listed.

Guidelines for Innkeepers:

• Offer at least one FREE room for one night or a Buy One and Get One Free offer on or around Veteran's Day in November.  Each offer will be listed on the B&Bs for Vets website. 
• Choose your dates.   Many properties start on November 10th, so veterans can wake up at the B&B and enjoy local Veteran’s Day activities on November 11th.  However, you may offer different dates or additional free nights – we’ll define your specific availability in your shared description.
• The B&Bs for Vets website will be used by veterans/active military as a search tool for locating participating independent properties.
