The Association of Lodging Professionals Fund (ALP Fund) is a 501(c)3 entity devoted to supporting the professional development of those owners in the independent lodging industry. 

The ALP Fund will provide professional development grants to attend the 2025 ALP Conference and Marketplace, March 24, 2025 to March 27, 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky. The grants honor two individuals who were dedicated to our industry – D. Scott Bushnell and Michael D. Hanscom.

The grant honoring Scott Bushnell will be awarded to a new lodging professional who has purchased a property within 18 months of the Conference, or is under contract to purchase a lodging property. Preference is given to those who are military veterans.

The grant honoring Michael Hanscom will also be awarded to a new lodging professional who has purchased a lodging property within 18 months of the

Conference. Preference for this grant is given to those who have purchased a historic, significant, or landmarked property.

Both grants will pay the registration fee for the ALP Conference and Marketplace. The grants do not cover the cost of transportation, lodging, and meals not included in the Conference registration. Any pre-conference events, such as those directed at aspiring innkeepers, are not included. All grant recipients are highly encouraged to book their hotel stay in the ALP hotel room block for the Conference. 

The recipients will be individuals who demonstrate a strong interest in broadening and strengthening their level of understanding and knowledge of the lodging industry by attending the Conference.

The application deadline for these grants is December 6, 2024. Candidates will be interviewed by mid-January and recipients will be notified by January 31, 2025. Any grant recipient who has registered for the conference prior to notification will be reimbursed for one eligible registration. There is one application – a committee will review all applications and choose the recipient of each grant.
