The Association of Lodging Professionals Fund (ALP Fund), a dedicated 501(c)3 entity, is committed to advancing the professional development of independent lodging property owners. Our mission is to support those who are passionate about the industry and eager to broaden their knowledge. One significant way we do this is by providing professional development grants to attend the highly anticipated 2024 ALP Conference and Marketplace, taking place from March 2, 2024, to March 6, 2024, in sunny Orlando, Florida. These grants are named in honor of two remarkable individuals who made a lasting impact on our industry: D. Scott Bushnell and Michael D. Hanscom.

The Scott Bushnell Grant: This grant is specially designed for new lodging professionals who have purchased a property within 18 months of the Conference or are under contract to acquire a lodging property. Preference is given to military veterans, reflecting Scott's deep respect for their service and dedication.

The Michael Hanscom Grant: Like the Scott Bushnell Grant, this award is intended for new lodging professionals who have purchased a property within 18 months of the Conference. However, this grant prioritizes those who have acquired historic, significant, or landmarked properties, aligning with Michael's passion for preserving and celebrating the industry's rich history.

Both grants generously cover the registration fee for the ALP Conference and Marketplace. Please note that they do not include expenses for transportation, lodging, or meals not covered in the Conference registration. Additionally, the grants do not encompass the costs associated with the Aspiring Professionals, New Owners Lodging Professionals, or the ALP Culinary Conferences occurring from March 2 to March 6, 2024.

Our grant recipients are individuals who demonstrate a profound commitment to deepening their understanding of the lodging industry. They seek to enhance their knowledge, build valuable connections, and contribute to the industry's growth by attending this exceptional event.

If you're interested in applying for these grants, the deadline for submissions is November 30, 2023. Recipients will be notified by mid-January 2024, providing ample time to prepare for this enriching experience.
