ALP Fund Rebrands as Independent Lodging Foundation (ILF) to Strengthen Support for Independent Lodging Industry
This rebranding reflects a broader mission to support the independent lodging industry through education, advocacy, research, and professional development.
Harrisburg, PA — September 11, 2025 — The ALP Fund, previously operating under the Association of Lodging Professionals (ALP), has officially transitioned to the Independent Lodging Foundation (ILF). This rebranding reflects a broader mission to support the independent lodging industry through education, advocacy, research, and professional development.
While the ALP Fund was already a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on grants and educational initiatives, the new ILF identity aims to enhance its visibility and impact within the industry. While the ILF will continue to support ALP and its mission, this rebranding marks a significant step in the organization’s mission to broaden our reach in empowering independent lodging professionals through education, grants, and industry advocacy.
ILF supports lodging professionals and aspiring lodging professionals through four primary industry awards: the Scott Bushnell Conference Grant, the Michael Hanscom Conference Grant, the Nancy Renner Conference Grant, and the Mary White Educational Grant. Each grant is in honor of individuals who have given so much to our industry.
“This transition to the Independent Lodging Foundation allows us to better align our identity with our mission,” said Board Chair Marilyn Bushnell. “We’re excited to continue building a stronger, more connected community of independent lodging professionals.”
