ALP Announces Partnership with TravelSafe Insurance
ALP is pleased to announce an agreement with TravelSafe Insurance for ALP member properties to have the ability to offer travel protection to their customers.
ALP is pleased to announce an agreement with TravelSafe Insurance for ALP member properties to have the ability to offer travel protection to their customers. The two plans were customized to fit most of the ALP needs after Chris Montogomery (President) and Richard Soldan (Vice President) of TravelSafe met with many of our members during the 2023 ALP Conference & Marketplace in Phoenix.
Chris and Richard tailored the two plans that are underwritten by Nationwide, and that are non-age rated with premiums as low as 6.5% for the Base plan, or 11.75% for the Base plan that includes “Cancel for Any Reason” (CFAR). TravelSafe Insurance is the oldest independently owned travel insurance company in the USA, and introduced CFAR to the travel industry in 2008.
The Base plan with CFAR offers the exact benefits and services as the Base plan, with the only difference being that customers may cancel “for any reason” and receive 75% of the cancelation penalties. The terms are that the CFAR plan must be purchased within 21 days of the initial deposit/payment and that should they wish to cancel their stay it must be done 2 days or more before their trip departure.
Besides the normal reasons to cancel a stay based on sickness, injury, or death, the plans include other “reasons” such as:
- Employment Termination
- Military Leave Revoked
- School year extended
- Inclement Weather
- Destination Uninhabitable/Inaccessible
- Civil Commotion, Riot, or Civil Unrest
- Being the Victim of Felonious Assault
- Quarantine / Hijacking / Jury Duty / Subpoena
- Traffic Accident
- Closed roadway
- Mechanical Breakdown of the Common Carrier
- Strike That Causes Cessation of Services of the Common Carrier

What’s in it for ALP property owners? Besides guests being protected from “unexpected” cancelations and penalty losses, room revenue could also be protected along with earning a 15% commission for each sale. This program makes a very attractive proposition for property owners looking to mitigate risks, potential for re-sales, and maximize earnings.
ALP and TravelSafe are now working with our ALP Allied Partners in the booking software space in order to implement these plans into the booking process in order to “keep it simple/easy” for you and your guests to add a travel protection plan for each stay. We encourage you as clients of these software companies to also contact your representative letting them know that you would like to see the program implemented into the system.
