Orlando, March 4, 2024 – The Association of Lodging Professionals (ALP) celebrated its annual award ceremony alongside the Annual Membership Meeting, recognizing outstanding individuals and organizations whose dedication has left a significant mark on the ALP community.

INDUSTRY IMPACT AWARD 

The Industry Impact Award (formerly the Chair's Award of Excellence) is a special honor given at the discretion of the ALP’s Chair of the Board of Directors to an individual or organization whose contributions and service have had a lasting impact on the ALP community.

This year, we proudly present the Industry Impact Award to Erik Spence, Lydia Hallock, Josie Lemay, and Shelly Bacon. Their collaborative efforts and unwavering commitment have propelled the association's growth and enriched member experiences amidst evolving challenges.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD 

The Distinguished Service Award (formerly the Volunteer of the Year Award) is presented to a dedicated individual who fulfills the “spirit” of ALP over the past year.

Gwenn Eyer of Blessings on State B&B in Jacksonville, Illinois, receives this year’s Distinguished Service Award for her exemplary leadership and dedication to the ALP B&B’s for Vets program. Gwenn's compassionate leadership and unwavering support have inspired and uplifted her fellow committee members, making a profound impact on the ALP community.

PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD 

The Public Service Award is designed to honor an ALP member who has demonstrated a commitment to his/her community and the needs of others.

This year’s recipient, Patricia McCauley of InsideOut Solutions, exemplifies this commitment through her active involvement in addressing teen homelessness in her community. Patricia’s leadership and innovative initiatives, including collaboration with local organizations and leveraging social media platforms, have made significant strides in addressing this critical issue.

INNOVATOR AWARD 

The Innovator Award is presented to a property that has demonstrated innovation in the areas of sales, marketing, operations, guest services, technology, revenue management, etc. This property has gone above and beyond the norm to improve overall property management and guest satisfaction.

Candleberry Inn, owned by Marco DiDomizio and Angelo Ferraro, receives the 2024 Innovator Award for their transformation of an underperforming inn into a world-class destination. Their strategic approach, dedication to excellence, and commitment to staff and guest experience have earned them acclaim from industry experts and guests alike.

ALLIED PARTNER AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 

The Allied Partner Award of Excellence recognizes an ALP Allied Partner who demonstrates superior levels of customer satisfaction, service, and business practices and shows significant dedication and commitment to building strong relationships with their customers.

Carol & Tom Edmondson of InnAdvisors are the recipients of the 2024 Allied Partner Award of Excellence. With decades of experience in the independent lodging industry, their unwavering commitment to client satisfaction and industry consulting has made a lasting impact on the success of numerous lodging businesses.
